Trusted Currumbin Electrician
Few suburbs change as much from one end to the other as Currumbin. The beachfront has surf, salt and steep hillside blocks. A few minutes inland there are canals and factories, and beyond that the valley turns to bush and farmland.
An electrician working here needs to be comfortable with all of it, from a corroded balcony light to a bore pump at the end of a long driveway.
Blue Ridge Electrical takes on residential, commercial and rural jobs right through Currumbin, Currumbin Waters and Currumbin Valley.
The drive from Bilambil Heights takes around 25 minutes, and you will have a fixed price before we pick up a tool.

Electrical Services Currumbin

Faults are not always obvious. We test insulation, connections and loads to find out why a circuit misbehaves, then put it right.

Solar, pool heating and a car charger add up quickly. We upgrade switchboards so the supply is shared safely and each circuit has its own protection.

On a still summer afternoon a ceiling fan earns its keep. We hang them on high raked ceilings and under patio roofs with the correct mounting and bracing.

Laundries and bathrooms on the shaded side of a hill hold moisture. A ducted exhaust fan on a timer clears it before mould sets in.

We design LED lighting that suits the room, with warm light where you relax and brighter, cooler light over benches and work areas.

Automate blinds, garden lights and gate motors, or simply control the lot from your phone. We install systems that stay simple to live with.

Sheds, granny flats and studios need power run to them properly, often underground. We size the cable for the distance so voltage does not drop at the far end.

More outlets in the garage, the home office or along the kitchen splashback. We install them on the right circuit so nothing is overloaded.

Photoelectric alarms, interconnected and positioned to Queensland requirements. On split-level hillside homes we make sure every storey is covered.

Why Choose Blue Ridge Electrical?
We are as comfortable wiring a pump shed on acreage as we are replacing downlights in a beachfront apartment.
Long runs to sheds, gates and pontoons need heavier cable. We calculate it instead of guessing, so equipment at the far end works as it should.
Near the creek mouth and along the beach we specify marine-grade hardware and seal every outdoor connection.

Local Electrician In Currumbin
Currumbin lies between Tugun and Palm Beach, where Currumbin Creek meets the sea. Our Bilambil Heights base is roughly 25 minutes south.
On the ocean side, houses climb Currumbin Hill and line Pacific Parade. Wind-driven salt reaches every exposed surface here. We regularly replace outdoor lights, isolators and power points that have rusted through, and we choose replacements built for the conditions.
Currumbin Waters, just inland, mixes canal-front homes with one of the southern Gold Coast’s main light industrial areas. Pontoon and jetty power must be on its own protected circuit with fittings suited to a wet location. In the industrial streets the work is quite different: three-phase supply, switchboard upgrades for new machinery, and lighting for workshops and storage.
Further west, Currumbin Valley is acreage country. Many properties rely on pumps for tank or bore water and have private power lines or underground mains running a long way from the road. When a pump stops, so does the water, so we treat those calls as urgent.
Homes in the valley are also popular for solar and battery storage. Before adding either, it is worth having the main switchboard and earthing checked so the new system connects to something sound.

Currumbin Smoke Alarm Deadlines and Safety Switch Checks
Is your home ready for 1 January 2027? That is the date by which every Queensland home, not only rentals and recently sold properties, must have photoelectric smoke alarms in all bedrooms, in hallways leading to them and on each floor, all interconnected. Hillside homes in Currumbin often have three or more levels, and each one needs at least one alarm. We survey the house, tell you exactly how many are required and install them.
Safety switches near water deserve extra attention. Pontoons, pools, outdoor showers and pump sheds all put electricity close to water. Each of these circuits should be protected by its own safety switch so that a fault outside does not black out the house. We test every switch with a meter, not only the push button, and replace any that respond too slowly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you travel up Currumbin Valley?
Yes. We work on properties the full length of the valley. Allow a little extra travel time for addresses toward the top, and tell us about any locked gates or steep access.
How quickly can you attend an emergency in Currumbin?
We are about 25 minutes away and take emergency calls 24 hours a day. You will be told a realistic arrival time when you phone.
Can you install power to my pontoon or jetty?
Yes. Pontoon power needs a dedicated circuit, safety switch protection and fittings rated for a marine location. We also check the condition of any existing cable, because older installations are often badly corroded.
My bore or tank pump has stopped. Is that an electrical problem?
Often it is. A failed capacitor, a tripped overload, a damaged cable or a faulty pressure switch will all stop a pump. We test the supply and controls first. If the pump itself has failed, we can disconnect it safely for replacement.
Do you install three-phase power for workshops?
Yes. We install three-phase outlets, sub-boards and machinery connections in Currumbin Waters industrial units, and can advise whether your existing supply is large enough.
A branch has damaged the power line on my property. Who fixes it?
Stay well clear and treat it as live. Lines owned by Energex are its responsibility, but poles and lines inside your boundary are usually private and need a licensed electrical contractor. Call us and we will tell you which applies and make it safe.
How many smoke alarms does a split-level house need?
At least one on every level, plus one in each bedroom and in any hallway connecting bedrooms to the rest of the home. They must all be interconnected so an alarm downstairs is heard upstairs.
Will you give me a price before starting?
Always. We inspect, then provide a fixed written quote at no charge.
Is your work certified?
Yes. We are licensed in Queensland and New South Wales, and Queensland jobs are issued with a certificate of testing and compliance on completion.
