Trusted Pimpama Electrician

Pimpama barely existed as a suburb fifteen years ago. Today it is one of the fastest growing parts of the Gold Coast, with estate after estate of new family homes, duplexes and dual living properties.

New does not always mean finished. Builders supply a basic electrical package, and owners soon discover there are too few power points, no fans in the bedrooms and nothing at all outside.

Blue Ridge Electrical completes the job. We install the extras, connect new appliances and vehicles, and repair faults once the builder is out of the picture.

Pimpama is the furthest north we go, around 50 minutes from Bilambil Heights, so we book these visits in advance and always quote a fixed price.

Electrical Services Pimpama

General Household Electrical icon

Loose connections and faulty fittings do turn up in new builds. Once the builder’s warranty period has ended, we find and fix them.

Switchboards Upgrade icon

Standard builder switchboards leave little room. We add capacity, surge protection and extra safety switches for chargers, sheds and air conditioning.

Ceiling Fan icon

Most new homes are handed over with batten lights in the bedrooms. We replace them with fan and light combinations, often all in one visit.

Exhaust Fans

If the exhaust fan installed by the builder is weak or loud, we swap it for a better one and check that the duct actually reaches outside.

Upgrade basic fittings to quality downlights, add pendants, and light the alfresco area and front entry properly.

New homes are ideal for smart switches, video intercoms and app-based control, and most can be added without opening walls.

Electrical Wiring icon

Garden sheds, workshops and garage conversions need their own supply. We run it underground and fit a small sub-board where appropriate.

Power Points icon

Double outlets where the builder gave you a single, plus new points in the garage, on the patio and wherever the furniture ended up.

Smoke Alarms icon

Homes built before 2017 often lack alarms in the bedrooms. We add them, link them to the existing ones and track the ten year replacement date.

Local Electrician In Pimpama

Pimpama sits beside the M1 on the northern Gold Coast, between Ormeau and Coomera. It is the most distant suburb we service, roughly 50 minutes from Bilambil Heights.

Nearly all the housing has been built since about 2010. The wiring is modern and safety switches are in place. What is usually missing is generosity: project homes are built to a price, with the minimum number of outlets, basic light fittings and no provision for the way families actually live.

Small lots mean garages get used as gyms, workshops and storage, so extra garage power is a constant request. Alfresco areas need fans, lighting and outlets for a fridge and barbecue. Side yards get sheds that want a supply.

Electric vehicles and home batteries are increasingly part of the picture in new estates. Many homes are single phase with a modest switchboard, so adding a charger needs a proper look at the maximum demand before anything is installed.

Pimpama also has a lot of dual living homes, where one building contains two separately let dwellings. Each side has its own circuits and alarms, and landlords need both kept compliant and in good repair.

Smoke Alarms and Safety Switches in Newer Pimpama Homes

Built before 2017? You may still need more alarms. Queensland has required interconnected photoelectric alarms in every bedroom of newly approved homes since 2017. Pimpama houses built before then typically have hardwired alarms in the hallways only. Those homes must have bedroom alarms added, and linked to the rest, by 1 January 2027, or sooner if the property is sold or leased. Alarms also expire ten years after manufacture, so the earliest estates are due for replacements.

Extra circuits need their own protection. Every addition, whether a car charger, a shed supply, a spa or an outdoor kitchen, should have a correctly rated breaker and safety switch of its own. Sharing an existing circuit to save money leads to nuisance tripping and overloaded cable. We install additions properly and label the switchboard so it is clear what controls what.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, by appointment. It is about 50 minutes from our base, so we group work in the northern Gold Coast and book ahead. For urgent faults, call and we will tell you how soon we can be there.

For defects in the original installation, contact your builder first, because the repair should be at their cost. For additions and upgrades, or once the warranty has ended, call us.

We calculate the maximum demand of the house and compare it with your supply. Many single-phase homes can run a 7 kW charger, sometimes with load management so it backs off when the oven and air conditioning are on.

Yes. In most single-storey homes we can use the existing light point and switch wiring, so a bedroom fan with light is fitted quickly and with no damage to the ceiling.

Yes. We trench and run underground cable in conduit to the shed, fit outlets and lighting, and protect the circuit at the main board.

Probably. Homes of that age generally have alarms in hallways but not in bedrooms. Queensland requires bedroom alarms, interconnected with the others, in all homes by 1 January 2027.

Yes. We work with property managers on both dwellings, covering repairs, alarm servicing and safety switch checks, and report on each side separately.

Yes. Each item is priced individually in writing so you can pick and choose.

Yes. We are licensed in both Queensland and New South Wales, and insured.
