Local Electrician In Broadbeach
Broadbeach lies between Mermaid Beach and Surfers Paradise, with Broadbeach Waters spreading inland along the canals. It is 40 to 45 minutes from our base depending on traffic.
The first wave of towers went up in the 1980s and 90s, followed by much taller buildings from the 2000s onward. Smoke Alarms, Rented Apartments and Queensland Law
Tenanted apartments must already comply. Any Broadbeach apartment rented to tenants falls under the rules that began on 1 January 2022. Interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms are required in every bedroom and in hallways connecting bedrooms to the rest of the unit. Apartments occupied by their owners have until 1 January 2027, and we advise bringing holiday-let units up to the same standard now. These alarms are separate from the building fire panel and are the lot owner’s responsibility.
Safety switches protect guests who do not know the apartment. Visitors plug in unfamiliar appliances, travel adaptors and chargers. A safety switch on each circuit is the best protection against a faulty one. Queensland requires them on rental power circuits. We test the devices in your unit board and replace or add to them as needed.

Minor work inside the lot usually needs no approval, but many buildings require contractors to sign in, show insurance and book the lift. Work affecting common property or the building supply needs body corporate consent. We handle those requirements.
Can you repair electrical faults in a restaurant during service?
We respond to venue emergencies at any time and will do what is needed to make the fault safe and get you trading. Permanent repairs that need a shutdown are scheduled for when you are closed.
Are the alarms in my unit part of the building fire system?
Usually not. The building system covers common areas and may include a detector in your unit that reports to the fire panel. The smoke alarms Queensland law requires in bedrooms and hallways are separate, and the owner must provide them.
Can I upgrade my apartment kitchen to induction?
Often, but the supply to the unit must be large enough. Induction cooktops draw more current than older electric hotplates. We check the sub-main and unit board and advise before you order appliances.

Yes. We can inspect and test the kettles, toasters, hair dryers and other portable appliances supplied to guests, tag them and give the owner or letting manager a register of results.
Can a split system be installed in an apartment with no existing air conditioning?
It depends on the supply to the unit and where the body corporate allows the outdoor unit to sit. We check both, and if the building can support it we install the circuit and isolator for your air conditioning contractor.
