Trusted Bilambil Electrician
This is our home patch. Blue Ridge Electrical operates from Lakeview Terrace in Bilambil Heights, so jobs in Bilambil and the Heights are on our doorstep.
The area is a mix of rural blocks in the valley and established homes on the hill, many of them built from the 1970s to the 1990s. Wiring from that period is generally sound but often short on safety switches and power points.
We carry out repairs, upgrades and new installations of every size, and we stand behind each one because our reputation here matters to us.

Electrical Services Bilambil

A light that will not work, a power point that sparks, a circuit that keeps dropping out. Being nearby, small repairs here are simple for us to attend.

Many homes on the hill still have their original board. We replace it with a modern unit that has a safety switch on every circuit.

Hillside homes catch the breeze, but still evenings need help. We install indoor and outdoor ceiling fans with quiet DC motors.

Steamy bathrooms in older brick homes benefit from a modern exhaust fan, ducted through the roof instead of into the ceiling cavity.

Replace dated oyster lights and fluorescent tubes with clean, efficient LED lighting throughout the house.

Add smart control to existing lights and air conditioning, in most cases without rewiring, and manage it all from a phone.

Extensions, decks, garages and granny flats need new circuits. We install them and bring older sections of wiring up to standard along the way.

Homes from the seventies and eighties were built with few outlets. We add double points where you need them and outdoor points for the deck.

We replace expired alarms and add interconnected units on split-level homes, which are common on the slopes of the Heights.

Local Electrician In Bilambil
Bilambil village lies in the valley beside Bilambil Creek, and Bilambil Heights rises above it with views to the Terranora Broadwater and the coast. Our business is on Lakeview Terrace in the Heights.
Much of the Heights was developed in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Homes from those years commonly have a switchboard with one or two safety switches at most, original smoke alarms long past their date and too few power points for modern living. In the valley, older farmhouses and rural blocks add longer cable runs and outbuildings to the picture.
None of this is unusual, and all of it can be fixed in manageable steps. Because we are based here, we can do a small job this month and the next one when you are ready.
Steep blocks are part of life in the Heights. Switchboards are often under the house or on a lower level, cable routes are longer than they look and access can be awkward. Knowing the area means we can plan for this before we arrive.
Bilambil village itself is older and lower, with timber homes, the school and the sports club close to the creek. Wiring in the village tends to be older than up on the Heights, and a few properties near the creek have seen water through them. For those we check that the switchboard and any under-house circuits are positioned and protected with that in mind.
What We Install, Repair and Maintain
Start with the tab that describes you: home owner, business, landlord or someone with an urgent problem.
Bringing 1970s to 1990s Bilambil Homes Up to NSW Standards
Smoke alarms. If your alarms were installed when the house was built, or you cannot remember them being changed, they are almost certainly expired. NSW requires a working alarm on each level, which matters in the split-level homes common in the Heights. We fit new photoelectric alarms and interconnect them between floors.
Safety switches. Until the early 1990s, new homes were not required to have RCD protection at all, and for years afterwards only power circuits were covered. We test what you have and extend protection to lighting and other circuits so the whole house is covered.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast can you get to Bilambil or Bilambil Heights in an emergency?
Very quickly, because this is where we are based. The emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, and for addresses in Bilambil and the Heights we are usually only minutes away.
Where exactly is Blue Ridge Electrical located?
Our business address is 11 Lakeview Terrace, Bilambil Heights NSW 2486. We are a mobile service, so we come to you, but that is where we operate from.
My Bilambil Heights home was built in the 1980s. What should I have checked?
Three things: the switchboard, to see how many circuits have safety switch protection; the smoke alarms, which have a ten-year life; and any original power points or switches that feel loose or warm. A general inspection covers all three and gives you a clear list in order of priority.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. Replacing a light fitting, adding a power point or swapping a faulty switch are all welcome, particularly when you are just down the road.
Are quotes free in Bilambil?
Yes. We will call in, look at the work and give you a fixed price in writing at no charge.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are licensed NSW electricians with full insurance and more than ten years of experience behind us.
Can you add outdoor lighting to a steep driveway or garden?
Yes. Sloping blocks benefit from well-placed path, step and driveway lights for safety at night. We install low-glare LED fittings on sensors or timers and run the cabling so it is protected from mowers and weather.
Can you add a safety switch to my existing switchboard?
Often, yes. If the board is in sound condition and has room, safety switches can be added to the existing circuits. If it is an old fuse board or has no space, replacing it is safer and usually better value. We look at the board and give you both options with fixed prices.
Do you install ceiling fans and air conditioning circuits in Bilambil Heights?
Yes. Fans can usually be fitted using the existing light wiring with a new wall control. Air conditioners need a dedicated circuit from the switchboard and an isolator beside the outdoor unit, and we take care of both.
Can you run power to a shed or carport on a sloping block?
Yes. We work out a cable route that follows retaining walls and garden edges instead of cutting across open lawn, bury it at the correct depth and fit a small sub-board in the shed if you need more than a light and an outlet.
Do you trim or clear trees near the line to my house?
No, that is a job for a qualified vegetation contractor. We can tell you whether the affected line belongs to you or to Essential Energy, and repair any damage to your private cable or point of attachment afterwards.
